Vitra - the famous design furniture manufacturer - has its own campus in Weil am Rhein at the German border, ten minutes from Basel, Switzerland.

A tour around the Vitra Campus is a dream for people fond of architecture. Many of the great "starchitects" have contributed with a factory- or exhibition building on the campus: Zaha Hadid, Herzog & de Meuron, Frank Gehry, Carsten Höller, SANAA, Tadao Ando ...

With the exception of all the factory buildings, most of the area are accessible for visitors and you can walk around and look at the many great buildings. SOme of them are open for the public, The Vitra Design Museum, the main building - the Vitra Haus - where you can buy tickets and get information about the campus and have a look at all the products from Vitra and the Vitra Schaudepot which has more than 400 of the worlds most famous furniture pieces on display.

The Vitra Campus has several restaurants and cafes and two shops. You can buy ice cream from an old Airstream camper or have a great meal both indoor or outside both the Vitra Haus and the Schaudepot.

You can also watch the making of the Eames Lounge Chair live in a huge room at the Vitra Haus.

If you bring the next generation of customers, we are sure they will enjoy the Vitra Slide Tower by Carsten Höller, climb all the stairs at the tower for great views over Vitra Campus, then use one of the "bags" to slide down the steep slide.
